Groups at North Community

North Community Counseling Centers administers programs to enrich the lives of Central Ohio residents and educate them on mental health, substance use disorders, and more. Within these programs, numerous groups are available to serve the individual needs across Franklin County and are available to most individuals regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Groups are open to clients of NCCC, with the exception of prevention groups.

Counseling Groups

In order to participate in these groups, participant must be at least 17-years or older, must be working with an NCCC Clinician or willing to check-in with the group leader monthly.

Center for New Americans

The Center for New Americans, an NCCC program, provides culturally appropriate services to individuals that are new to the country to help them overcome acculturation barriers and encourage them to live productive, quality lives.

Substance Use Disorder Treatment

NCCC provides outpatient care for individuals working to overcome addiction and prevent future relapse.

Support, Probation & Parole

We collaborate with probation and parole departments to ensure clients receive the treatment they need to fulfill parole and/or probation requirements.

Men’s Support Group
Find additional support and strategies to cope with: mental health concerns, lack of support, struggle with employment, relational stress and much more. This group is a safe space for men to find support and create healthy changes.

NCCC Pride
People who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, etc. (LGBTQI+) will benefit from the support system created through this group and will be able to demonstrate their own strengths through altruism, imparting, wisdom, and universality.

Find Your Calm
This 12-week group is intended to help those who struggle to manage their responses to anger using strategies proven to help create change. This group will cover events and cues that trigger anger, creating an a anger control plan and using conflict resolution skills and more. Come learn how to change your response to anger so you can live a healthier life.

Women’s Empowerment Group

Make positive changes in your life, become healthier physically and emotionally, and continue your recovery journey. NCCC can provide the skills, education, and real-life help you need to gain true independence and handle the challenges women experience.

Youth and Adolescent Outpatient Program

NCCC provides services to children and adolescents having difficulty functioning at home, at school, or in the community. Our rigorous program treats children and adolescents in a comprehensive, outpatient setting and is designed to reduce hospitalization and residential placement.

1-2-3 Magic: Effective Discipline for Children 2-12 

Starting March 30 – Wednesdays at 11:30 for 6 Weeks

This bestselling, award-winning program provides parents, teachers, and anyone involved in child care with straight forward techniques for managing children ages 2-12 without arguing, yelling, or spanking. Parents will learn how to control obnoxious behavior, the Six Kinds of Testing and Manipulation and how to handle them, and what to do about such issues as chores, practicing, homework, messy rooms, lying and so on. The presentation deals with the frequent and ordinary, but aggravating problems that children present. The six-week class is intended for parents of average children as well as parents with special needs.
