In Case You Missed It: May Recap

North Community Counseling Centers stayed actively engaged in the community throughout May by participating in a variety of outreach events and initiatives across Central Ohio. Our team attended the City of Gahanna Division of Police Mental Health Resource Fair and the OSU Wexner Mental Health Fair, continuing to share resources and connect individuals with behavioral health support services.
Our Women’s Empowerment Program participated in Rise Up CBUS events at Fruit of the Spirit and Highland Presbyterian Church. WEP Thrive and Flourish group members also attended the Harmony Project’s Concert for Humanity at the Columbus Commons, enjoying music from 1976. Meanwhile, school-based staff Destiny Rasnick and Chelsea Andrix represented NCCC at Fort Hayes High School’s Freshmen Orientation and the “Spring Fling” event at World Language Middle School. Additionally, our Next Generation clients had the opportunity to attend a Columbus Clippers game through the Franklin County Office on Aging, helping foster community connection and engagement.

The Women’s Empowerment Program Queer Group is a welcoming and inclusive support group created for every LGBTQIA+ identity to connect, heal, grow, and build community together. Through group topics such as identity exploration, radical openness, healthy relationships, creative self-expression, physical and mental wellness, and community connection, participants are encouraged to share experiences in a safe, affirming space centered on support, empowerment, and authenticity.
Group Meetings:
Wednesdays at 5:30 PM

After each session, participants are invited to stay for an additional 30 minutes of networking and socializing to strengthen friendships, build community support, and create meaningful connections outside of group discussion.

Stay In The Know With NCCC

This month at NCCC, our team will continue working to educate and enrich the lives of individuals and families across Central Ohio.

NCCC has officially opened Safe Landing, a 16-bed residential program for adult women with a dual diagnosis, now accepting referrals and offering 24/7 care, wraparound services, and rent waivers for those without income.

North Community Counseling Centers is excited to participate in this year’s NAMI Walk as Team North Community Counseling Centers! Events like this are a great opportunity to come together as a community, raise awareness surrounding mental health, and show support for individuals and families impacted by mental illness. The walk will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Scioto Audubon Metro Park, with registration beginning at 8:00 AM, opening remarks at 9:00 AM, and the 2.5-mile walk beginning at 9:30 AM. We are proud to stand alongside NAMI and other community partners in promoting hope, advocacy, and access to mental health resources throughout Central Ohio.
NCCC is proud to join HSC (Human Service Chamber) in the Stonewall Columbus Pride March on June 20 at 9:00 AM in support of the LGBTQ+ community. 🏳️‍🌈

We’re excited to stand alongside community partners and organizations for this meaningful and celebratory event that honors inclusion, visibility, and pride.

Additional event details and information about the march can be found on their website.

Impact in Action

Sarah Callaway and Erin Materu recently recognized a few staff members for the amazing work they continue to do for our clients and team. Larissa Reynolds has received praise from clients for consistently going above and beyond to ensure they receive the care and support they need, while also maintaining excellent communication across NCCC. Ashley Casby recently stepped in without hesitation to assist a client during an urgent situation that directly impacted the client’s housing stability, and Jeremie Glenn quickly jumped in to help provide the records needed to ensure everything went smoothly.
