In Case You Missed It: July Recap

North Community Counseling Centers kicked off July by hosting our annual Summer Client Party, bringing together clients and staff for an afternoon of food, games, music, and community. This event is one of our favorite traditions each year, providing an opportunity to celebrate our clients, strengthen relationships, and create lasting memories in a fun, welcoming environment.

Throughout the rest of the month, NCCC remained actively engaged in the community by participating in outreach events and connecting individuals with behavioral health resources across Central Ohio.

Our team joined the community at the Ohio Eggfest at the Fortress Obetz, where we shared information about NCCC’s programs and services while enjoying a day filled with incredible food, fun, and community spirit. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with attendees and reinforce that mental health support is for everyone.

We also participated in Rise Up CBUS at Maloney Ridge, another fantastic opportunity to engage with community members and local partners. These free neighborhood events bring people together through food, music, and family-friendly activities, allowing us to share NCCC resources while building meaningful connections with those we serve.

Back-to-School Spotlight: NCCC’s School-Based Program

As students prepare to head back to school, North Community Counseling Centers is proud to partner with select Columbus City Schools to provide prevention and treatment services that support students’ mental health and overall well-being.

Our School-Based Program offers prevention services focused on building healthy coping skills and addressing concerns early, while treatment services provide more individualized support for students experiencing more significant or persistent mental health challenges. Through individual services, group programming, and collaboration with school staff, we help students navigate life’s challenges, strengthen their resilience, and develop the tools they need to succeed both in school and beyond. Our goal is to meet students where they are by providing a safe, supportive environment where they feel heard, valued, and empowered to grow.

Reflecting on the impact of the program, School-Based Coordinator Emileigh Allen shared:

“One of the most rewarding parts of this work is being able to build relationships with students and watch their confidence and progress over time. By providing support early and connecting students with the resources they need, we hope to make a lasting impact that extends beyond the classroom. We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside select Columbus City Schools, students, families, and the community to help create a stronger foundation for students’ future success.”
